Sword forged by Ouyezi and Ganjiang; its aura alone routed the Jin army for the King of Chu.

Tai’e, the “Supreme Awesomeness,” was forged by Ouyezi and Ganjiang and kept by the King of Chu. When Jin invaded demanding the sword, the king drew Tai’e from the city wall; the blade’s aura alone drove the Jin army back. Later writers took the name as the type of “awe” — the sword that wins before it strikes.
