The Taiji Diagram is the treasure of the Supreme Elder Lord Lao, a scroll in which the whole cosmos — mountains, rivers and stars — lies folded. Unrolled, it stills the elements and draws the proudest immortals into a world of their own making. It turns the Daoist doctrine of the Great Ultimate into a weapon of absolute containment.
