The White Dragon Horse

Dragon prince of the West Sea, transformed into the white steed that bore Tang Sanzang westward.

The White Dragon Horse is the third son of the Dragon King of the West Sea, sentenced to death for burning the palace pearl and saved by Guanyin to await the pilgrim. Transformed into a white steed, he carries Tripitaka across mountains and rivers for fourteen years, silent except when his help is needed. After the scriptures are won, he ascends to become the Eight-part Heavenly Dragon at the feet of the Buddha.
