Gaoxin

One of the Five Sovereigns, often merged with the high god Dijun; ancestor of Shang and Zhou.

Diku, Lord Gaoxin, was one of the Five Sovereigns, grandson of the Yellow Emperor’s line, and ancestor of both the Shang and the Zhou: his sons Xie and Houji founded the two great lineages. The Records of the Historian call him intelligent and far-seeing, ruling by following heaven’s seasons. Scholars often identify him with the high god Dijun of the Shanhaijing, joining history to myth.
