Li Tieguai, the Iron-Crutch Li, is the ragged chief of the Eight Immortals. While his soul wandered in meditation his body was cremated, and he entered the corpse of a lame beggar — hence his iron crutch and gourd. He carries medicine for the world, a healer who looks like a beggar and heals like a god.
