Bird-bodied northern sea god with serpents at his ears, also lord of winter.

Yujiang, also called Yujing, is the god of the Northern Sea and of winter. With a human face and a bird’s body, he wears green serpents at his ears and treads on two more. As the north rules darkness, cold and the closing year, Yujiang presides over the season of stillness and the wind that carries death and rebirth.
