Wukong tricks the pig demon haunting the Gao household and recruits him for the journey.

The pig demon Zhu Ganglie takes human form, marries into the Gao family of Gao Village and reveals his true face only when drunk; expelled, he seizes the family’s daughter and shuts himself in the back courtyard. Sun Wukong, disguised as the girl, torments the suitor until the chase ends at the Cloud-Stack Cave, where the demon confesses his past as Marshal Tianpeng. Recruited to the pilgrimage, he becomes Zhu Bajie.
