A Ghost’s Redemption

A ghost forced to lure men finds honor in scholar Ning Caichen and wins new life.

Ning Caichen, an upright scholar, lodges in a haunted temple where he meets the beautiful ghost Nie Xiaoqian. Forced by a night demon to lure men to their deaths, Xiaoqian is moved by Ning’s refusal of temptation. He carries her bones to a proper grave, freeing her from the demon; in gratitude she follows him home, and in time returns to life as his wife.
